Specialization

The Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies degree program offers six Specializations:
- ACCOUNTING
- COMMERCIAL AVIATION MANAGEMENT
- CONSUMER BEHAVIOR
- FINANCE
- HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
- MANAGEMENT & LEGAL STUDIES
Admission, Progression and Graduation Requirements for the Specialization modules are:
Admission Requirements for Main Campus Students
After first, second or third year, to enter a BMOS Specialization, Main Campus students must have
a) achieved an overall average of 70% on the last 5.0 courses;
b) a cumulative average of 65%
Program Admission is assessed in May of each year during the Adjudication period and based on the student's Intent to Register request submitted in March.
Admission Requirements for Affiliated College Students
After first, second or third year, in order to transfer into a BMOS Specialization, Affiliated College students at Huron Collenge or King's College must have:
a) achieved an overall average of 70% on the last 5.0 courses;
b) a cumulative average of 70%
Program Admission is assessed in May of each year during the Adjudication period and based on the student's Intent to Register request submitted in March.
Progression Requirements
To remain in a BMOS Specialization students must have:
a) maintained a minimum cumulative average of 65%
For students who do not meet this requirement, they must achieve re-admission.
Re-admission Requirements
If a student is unsuccessful in progressing in the BMOS program because their cumulative overall average falls below 65%, they will be required to obtain re-admission to the program. To be re-admitted, a student must:
a) achieve an overall average of 70% on 5.0 courses taken while out of BMOS;
b) achieve a cumulative average of 65%
NOTE: Students not currently in the MOS program are reviewed for re-admission during the Adjudication period held in May based on their request on their Intent to Register.
Students who have had significant documentable grounds for consideration may submit a formal appeal to the Undergraduate Chair. The deadline to submit an appeal is June 30. This is strictly enforced. Please read and follow the instructions carefully.
Graduation Requirements
To graduate from the BMOS Specialization, students must achieve a minimum cumulative average of 65% on the 20.0 courses counted towards the BMOS Specialization degree. Students with advanced standing must achieve an overall average of 65% on courses completed at Western.
All students require 2.0 designated essay courses (E, F or G; at least 1.0 of which must be a senior course numbered 2000-4999) and 1.0 course from each of the Categories A, B and C.
